Sta circolando nel forum di My Digital Life il primo crack funzionante per attivare Windows 7 RTM. È stato realizzato da Hazar utilizzando un metodo interessante anche se, tutto sommato, simile a quanto già accadeva con Vista. Come spiegato a pagina 63 del thread da Hazar stesso:
This is based on Vista loader, and basically I have used grub4dos and integrated a menu.lst file in it, which cotains a command to boot vista with the acpi function which loads a SLIC table, and I’ve hardcoded the slic into GRLDR by using a “sandwich” batch file I made (copy loader part1 + SLIC + part2 and combie in binary mode, lets me me expermiment with different OEM’s with ease). So yes I load the SLIC table using grub4dos’s inbuilt acpi function and then just used an SLP 2.0 HP cert and the Windows 7 ultimate leaked product key
In pratica, è stato inserito in GRLDR di grub4dos sia il menu.lst idoneo a effettuare il boot di Seven, sia la SLIC table adatta a ingannare il sistema, facendogli credere di essere installato su un PC OEM originale. Come detto, il metodo è praticamente uguale a quanto già accadeva con Vista e il System Locked Preinstallation.
